Ferguson Plarre have revealed how Mum wants to spend Mother’s Day this year. Baked, tasty delights are right up there on the wish list based on a survey Ferguson Plarre had run to understand what people want this Mother’s Day. 62% of respondents surveyed said that cakes and other baked treats are Mum’s most desired present. Not only are cakes and treats what mums want most, they’re also statistically the most popular gift purchased for Mother’s Day (62%), with flowers coming in at a close second (49%). How does a zesty lemon vanilla slice or rich and creamy chocolate cheesecake sound? This year, these two flavours will be the crème de la crème of Mother’s Day desserts at Ferguson Plarre.
“There are so many options for Mother’s Day at Ferguson Plarre,” CEO Steve Plarre said. “The most popular dessert for mothers is our cheesecake (58%), followed by lemon meringue pie (40%). Vanilla slice takes the cake as our most popular sweet (67%), with eclairs (52%) and cupcakes (48%) following closely behind. All our cake flavours are loved by mums, but chocolate took out the top spot with over half saying it was their favourite (52%). Of course, we had to create a chocolate cheesecake especially for the occasion to honour the top dessert and top flavour preferences amongst mums. It is the perfect combination of light, fluffy cream cheese and rich chocolate on a buttery chocolate biscuit base that every mum is guaranteed to love.” he adds.
With 72% of people looking to spend between $20 and $60 on cakes and treats this Mother’s Day, Ferguson Plarre is a deliciously affordable option to satisfy sweet cravings at any budget. This year, special mix and match dessert packs will also be available for the occasion.
It seems that Mum likes to spend it with the ones she loves most. 70% of respondents celebrate the occasion with more than five people over a meal. 39% of respondents said they enjoy a home cooked meal with the family, while 31% make a day of it by going out for lunch.
